NORRES reaffirms its concern for children in 2011
Cheque presentation ceremony at the NORRES headquarters
For more than ten years now, NORRES Schlauchtechnik has supported the “Noah’s Ark” centre with a Christmas donation. As Chairman of the Sponsors of Gelsenkirchen Children’s Hospice, Rudolf Heib is only too aware of the importance of donations for the centre’s work “NORRES is one of our most loyal donors! The generous sum presented to us every Christmas is immensely valuable in our efforts to improve the quality of life of both the children and their parents.” This year, the cheque was handed over at the NORRES headquarters at the port of Gelsenkirchen. This change of venue was necessary owing to the major refurbishments currently taking place at “Noah’s Ark”, to which the donated money has made a very useful contribution. “Noah’s Ark has long been an institution close to NORRES’ heart. We made a conscious decision to choose a project in the local region region that helps children and their families”, Burkhard Mollen stressed.
Noah’s Ark in Gelsenkirchen describes itself first and foremost as a “house of life” – a philosophy that is reflected in the light, inviting and colourful design of both its indoor and outdoor areas. The concept of the Ark, which is the only centre of its kind anywhere in Germany, defines two main functions: to act as a short-term care centre for youngsters with severe disabilities and to offer a haven for incurably ill children. The aim of the institution is to assist the families concerned by providing professional care and respite for children and teenagers at the Noah’s Ark centre.
