The complete system comprises the following components: SOLAERA – Energy centre Heating capacity: Electrical connection: Dimensions (W x D x H): Heating circuit: Materials: 5 - 7 kW Three-phase current 230/400 V 79.5 x 84 x 200 cm + 10 cm for upper connection Max. supply temperature: 35 °C Steel, PE, PS, copper, brass, PP, EPDM foam Hybrid collector Collector array: Installation possibilities with a tilt of 60° - 90° : Materials: Minimum area: 20 - 25 m2 I Facade installation I Ground-mounted installation I On-roof installation Aluminium, Glass, copper, HT insulating foam Storage tank capacity: Empty weight: Diameter without insulation: Diameter with insulation: Height with insulation: Insulation: SOLUS II SOLAERA 1000 l 255 kg 85 cm 111 cm 206 cm Lid: 15 cm Side: 10 + 2.5 cm air cushion

Maximum storage tank temperature: 90 °C Maximum draw rate at 45 °C: 20 l / min (upper storage tank: 55 °C) Higher flow rates are possible with higher storage tank temperatures Materials: Heat exchanger: copper, Insulation: ALU-EPS, Container: steel

How does a heat pump function? I The task of a heat pump is to “pump up” heat from a low temperature to a higher temperature. With the energy which is generated by cooling water from 20 °C to 10 °C, the same volume of water can be reheated from 40 °C to 50 °C with a heat pump at another place. I In this way the energy is not lost, because the energy extracted at one place can be returned at another place at a higher temperature. I A refrigerator is an example of a heat pump. The heat that is extracted from the chilled goods at refrigeration temperatures is emitted into the environment at a higher temperature from the rear of the refrigerator.

To use SOLAERA the following preconditions must be met: I Low temperature heating with max 35 °C supply I Minimum collector surface area of 20 - 25 m2 I Minimum tilt of the collectors 60 - 90 °C I Type of construction of the new building according to EnEV standard with max. 10 MWh annual consumption (heating and hot water) I Standing area in the cellar for the energy centre and the combined storage tank approx. 3 m x 1.2 m

Field test 2007 SOLAERA systems will be put into operation in 2007 during field tests within a radius of 100 km of the company sites in Frankfurt am Main and Lörrach (Germany). A marketing campaign throughout Germany is planned for 2008. If you are interested you can fill in a form for planning your solar system (download available on the homepage www.consolar.de). We will be happy to check whether your house is suitable for the SOLAERA system.
