Testing

In addition to using modern engine test stands, we also carry out extensive tests in our chemical and physical laboratories. We offer a variety of different test and simulation possibilities, allowing you to determine the testing scope and budget. This ensures that you receive optimum value during the testing phase. Through our three development centers in Neu-Ulm, North America, and Japan, VICTOR REINZ has worldwide access to 27 engine test stands and associated laboratories for analysis and static/dynamic pretesting. All activities are coordinated by the Competence Center R & D.

Real tests provide final certainty VICTOR REINZ can carry out further loading tests under real operating conditions using original Engines and exhaust systems on our engine test stands. Additional accelerated tests are also available – to examine the effects of road salt, for example - subjecting the shielding systems to years of material stress within a few days. Synergy effects during testing Synergy between head gasket and other sealing system testing (such as valve covers) enables the comprehensive range of testing and simulation equipment available at VICTOR REINZ. We use the same equipment and benefit from the expertise of all the engine experts at VICTOR REINZ.

From icy cold to burning hot – the thermal shock test at -30 °C causes engine and shielding systems to age several years within hours.

Shaker test During testing on the shaker, shielding systems are vibrated through a defined frequency band and with different acceleration values. When compared with the virtual simulation, the response behavior usually shows only slight differences. Shaker tests offer additional possibilities to simulate real operating conditions. One example is the ability, to vibrate Engine components or the exhaust system together with the mounted shielding system.
