The innovative complement: The bore hole sealing sleeve system
An ingenious complement to the ERHARD premium pipe saddle is the ERHARD bore hole sealing sleeve system for Pipes with a fibre cement casing. It is very easy to fit and at the same time makes a perfect seal from the word go. Fabric linings in the cement casing now no longer have to be removed before Drilling. The sealant function takes place directly on the steel or cast-iron pipe and securely Seals torn and porous cement mortar. The bore hole sealing sleeve can be used with all outlet variations (with the Rp 1½ and the Plasson system, and with either vertical or horizontal outlets in each case). The system is made up of two sealing sleeves that lie one within the other: an inner sealing sleeve made of a special synthetic material and an outer sealing sleeve made of EPDM. Over the years, the very smooth material of the sealing sleeve has already proved to be very resistant to encrustation when used in other applications. This prevents the borehole being closed up again despite the very high mineral content of drinking water. Even the high flow rate of the ERHARD premium pipe saddle is hardly affected by this. The bore hole sealing sleeves are manufactured according to DVGW requirements for drinking water with KTW and W270 approval. Fixing the sealing sleeve in place does not require any separate equipment. Standard drilling equipment can be used, except that instead of the drill piece a cushioned ERHARD positioningelement is attached as an adapter. The attachment is simple: Firstly, after the standard drilling the boring bar is removed and after rinsing the rotary valve is closed. The drill piece is then swapped for theERHARD positioning element with the bore hole sealing sleeve inside it. The drilling equipment is then screwed back onto the valve and the boring bar is inserted until it makes contact with the closed rotary disc. After the valve is opened the bore hole sealing sleeve is anchored over the feed and the compression spring of the positioning element is anchored in the seat ring. The drilling equipment is removed in the normal manner – job done! During the whole process a magnet automatically removes any remaining steel chips. The sealing sleeve can also be removed from the connection piece at any time without being destroyed, even when under pressure. Corresponding trademark rights have been granted for this innovative system. 1
The bore hole sealing sleeve is made up of two synthetic sleeves, one lying inside the other. In addition to applications for pipes encased in fibre cement, options for other types of pipe are also available on request.
