RoHS: Die so gekennzeichneten NORRES Produkte entsprechen der EG-Richtlinie 2002/95/EG zum Verbot bestimmter Substanzen bei der Herstellung und Verarbeitung von elektrischen und elektronischen Geräten und Bauteilen. NORRES verfolgt das Ziel, äußerst problematische Stoffbestandteile aus den Produkten zu verbannen. Dazu gehört unter anderem die bleifreie Verlötung elektronischer Bauteile, Verzicht auf giftige Flammhemmer bei der Herstellung von Kabeln und Kabelschutzartikeln sowie die Einführung entsprechender Ersatzprodukte. Nachfolgende Stoffe sind in den so gekennzeichneten NORRES Produkten gemäß Richtlinie nicht enthalten: • Blei • Quecksilber • Cadmium • Sechswertiges Chrom • Polybromierte Biphenyle (PBB) • Polybromierte Diphenylether (PBDE) Nach dem überarbeitenden Anhang der Richtlinie sind konkrete Grenzwerte für die im Produkt enthaltenen Materialien festgelegt. Für Cadmium beträgt der Grenzwert 0,01 Gewichts-% und für die anderen Stoffe 0,1 Gewichts-%. Messing- und Kupferlegierungen dürfen maximal 4 Gewichts-% Blei haben. Die Abkürzung RoHS bedeutet engl. „Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment“ und deut. „Beschränkung der Verwendung bestimmter gefährlicher Stoffe in Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten“. Die Übergangsfrist für die betroffenen Hersteller und Branchen lief bis zum 1. Juli 2006.

RoHS: NORRES products bearing this mark comply with the EU Directive 2002/95/EC banning the use of certain substances in the manufacture or processing of electrical and electronic equipment and Components. The objective of NORRES is to exclude the use of particularly problematic material components in the products in question. Amongst other things, this entails lead-free soldering of electronic components, withdraw of toxic ame retardants in the manufacture of cables and cable protection devices and the introduction of suitable substitute products. The following substances are not contained in the abovementioned NORRES equipment according to the directive: • Lead • Mercury • Cadmium • Sexavalent chromium • Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) • Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) The revised Appendix to the Directive species maximum concentrations for the materials contained in a product. The permitted concentrations are 0.01% by weight for cadmium and 0.1% by weight for the other ve substances. Brass and copper alloys must not contain more than 4% lead by weight. The acronym RoHS means „Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment“. A transitional period for manufacturers and industries affected by this Directive was effective until July 1, 2006.

CSA: NORRES Produkte, die mit diesem CSA-Prüfzeichen gekennzeichnet sind, wurden nach geltenden Sicherheitsund/oder Leistungsstandards geprüft und erfüllen diese. Darin eingeschlossen sind die UL (Underwriters Laboratories) Normen, die ANSI (American National Standards Institute) Normen des amerikanischen Amtes für Normung und die NSF (National Sanitation Foundation International) Normen.
